Day 1 Arrive Edinburgh an commence your stay with a city tour. 'Edinburgh', said the writer Robert Louis Stevenson, 'is what Paris ought to be'.
Its magnificent architecture shifts from the lofty tenements and narrow closes of its medieval Old Town as they tumble down the spine of the Royal Mile, to the grace and geometric precision of the Georgian New Town. Above it all, in its towering splendour, stands the Castle.
In the evening enjoy a relaxed dinner in your fine Edinburgh city hotel.
Day 2 Time now to experience the great Scottish outs and it breathtaking scenery as we venture into the beautiful Lothian countryside. It is now time to be active and you can enjoy perhaps Golf Scotland’s national sport; with coaching if required by a professional. The Marriott Dalmahoy Hotel & Country Club. Designed by James Braid, the course here has in previous years experienced the glory of the Solheim Cup.
In the late afternoon we visit THE SCOTCH WHISKY HERITAGE CENTRE Situated next to Edinburgh Castle and set in a traditional and historic building, the Scotch Whisky Heritage Centre is a unique and unusual to enjoy our whisky tour and private whisky tastings. Then in the evening a night out of Scottish dining, perhaps a ‘dram’ or two and live music at the Jam House.The Jam House has an intimate atmosphere for a live music venue favouring the 'unplugged' feel with more contact between artists and members of the public. There are no futuristic, technological lighting effects, just simple theatrical style focused on the artist and providing a live entertainment experience.
Day 3 Be a laird for the day and experience the lifestyle of a traditional Scottish landowner on their enjoying the activities on their estate.Take part in country pursuits including Falconry, known as the Sport of Kings, fly-fishing and some fun off roading in 4 X 4 vehicles.
In the evening time for our final banquet, a traditional ceilidh, a traditional Scottish party with Highland dancing by a troupe of professionals. The gentlemen will be kitted out with full Highland dress (kilts) and the ladies with tartan sashes. Not all dancing as a fine traditional Scottish dining experience awaits you in your Scottish country house accompanies by the sound of bag pipes.
