Heart of England

An itinerary to embrace the quite remarkable history of the region and some of it most famous sons, William Shakespeare and Winston Churchill included.  Oxford, Stratford, as well as hidden gems like Blenheim Palace, and some charming Cotswolds villages and a fine hotel, spa and dining experience to finish…

Day 1
Arrive UK and transfer to Oxford, The City of Dreaming Spires, is famous the world over for its University and place in history. For over 800 years, it has been a home to royalty and scholars, and since the 9th century an established town, although people are known to have lived in the area for thousands of years. You'll enjoy a guided walk through the famous colleges.

Following a lunch in Oxford we will see Winston Churchill's tomb at Bladon and visit his remarkable birthplace Blenheim Palace Situated close to Oxford the Palace was created a World Heritage site in 1987 and is the home of 11th Duke of Marlborough and birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. The imposing scale of the Palace is beautifully balanced within, by the intricate detail and delicacy of the carvings, the hand painted ceilings and the amazing porcelain collections, tapestries and paintings displayed in each room.  Set in beautiful parkland of 2100 acres, which was landscaped by 'Capability' Brown in 1760's, the Palace is surrounded by sweeping lawns and formal gardens.

Our hotel is the quite charming Bear Hotel situated in the pretty village of Woodstock, situated a few minutes from Blenheim Palace. The hotel can trace its roots back to an original 13th century coaching inn. Today its long tradition for a friendly greeting and comfortable accommodation is exemplified by high levels of service and the reassuring sight of open fireplaces and old oak beams.

Tonight we dine in the hotel.

Day 2
A short journey from our hotel takes us to Stratford Upon Avon, the birthplace of William Shakespeare, steeped in culture and history. Set in the beautiful rural Warwickshire countryside, on the banks of the river Avon, it is one of the most important visitor destinations in the UK.  Our itinerary includes a visit to the 5 beautiful period homes and gardens associated with arguably the world fine literary figure , including his birthplace.

Following lunch in Stratford it is time tot get active as we head for the Heritage Motor Museum at Gaydon.  The Heritage Motor Centre houses the world's largest collection of historic British cars, displayed within a stunning Art-Deco style modern building. Following a tour of the museum it is time to test your driving skills  with our Land Rover 4x4 Off-Road Experience.

The evening we return to the magnificent Blenheim Palace for a fine dining experience in the Orangery. Designed by Sir John Vanbrugh, The Orangery is a beautifully elegant room with high ceilings and huge arched windows. The Orangery terrace overlooks the beautiful Italian Garden, where we enjoy a Champagne reception with a difference.

Day 3
The morning sees us exploring the very best of the Cotswolds.  Experience the most famed market towns like Chipping Camden, but we think you'll enjoy the hidden, less visited villages somewhat more, like the beautifully preserved village of Lacock. This lovely place, where TV aerials, telephone wires and advertising are banned, has been used as a film set in everything from 'Pride and Prejudice' to Harry Potter'.

Following a traditional Cotswolds pub luncheon we then transfer to the Lygon Arms in Broadway for you final night spend .The hotel has been welcoming guests for more than 500 years. Set in a classic Cotswolds village, the hotel offers luxury accommodations, an award-winning health spa and Michelin Star cuisine.

Following some beautiful spa treatments in the evening we dine in the hotel’s Michelin Star Restaurant – The Great Hall – serving the finest  French and Continental cuisine.

Itineraries can be changed or customized according to your preference.
