TOUR to FEI European Eventing Championships 2011

The 2011 FEI European Eventing Championships will be held at Luhmuhlen, Germany, a location steeped in Equestrian history

Our tour to the 2011 FEI European Eventing Championships has very limited places and we recommend early booking.

Following a run of extremely well received Eventing tours , most recently the World Equestrian Games in Kentucky, Incentevents Ltd as the official travel agency and tour operator partner of the Event Horse Owners Association, EHOA, are delighted to announce a tour package for persons wishing to travel to the Championships. Non EHOA members are welcome too.

PREMIER or PREMIER plus ticket package - you choose

Included in the tour we offer either a Premier or Premier Plus ticket package. The Premier Plus package includes Season ticket with Granstand ( free seating ) PLUS International Supporters Pavilion - see details below. The Premier ticket package incluses Season ticket with Grandstand only . Opening ceremony tickets for those choosing Premier ticket package can be purchased seprately on request

INTERNATIONAL SUPPORTERS PAVILION ( ISP )

Our premier plus ticket packages includes the ISP. The Championships organisers have organised and host the Pavilion with the assistance of Rosemary Barlow. The International Supporters Pavilion includes :

*Season ticket including Grandstand ( free seating )
*Ticket for Opening Ceremony ( Wednesday )
*Car Pass ( for those who take own vehicle )
*Entry to International Supporters Pavilion ( facing Showground )
*Complimentary drinks ( water, coffee, tea, soft drinks, wine , beer )
*Food not included ( can be purchased in Pavilion or public catering areas )
*Complimentary Programme, start lists and results service

Cost per person ( EHOA members £ 25.00 discount per person sharing twin/ double. £40.00 single occupancy  ) * If you do not require flights we offer a £150 reduction on the tour price. Hamburg is well served from many UK regional airports. We can make arrangements on your behalf as required and cost accordingly.
* If you wish to extend your stay then we will be happy to tailor your requirements and offer the best option for you.

NOT INCLUDED

Your tour cost does not include items of a personal nature, extras ie tips , drinks, calls, laundry, meals except where included. Travel insurance is not included however it is essential you take adequate cover to suit your circumstances. We can arrange on your behalf as required.

ABOUT VENUE

The Championships take place in Luhmuhlen, located just 50 minutes from Hamburg in the area Luneburg Heath. The Championships venue is currently undergoing a multi million pound re development in preparation for the European's which will give the event state of the art facilities while retaining the history and charm of Luhmuhlen many know so well.

ABOUT CHAMPIONSHIPS & TOUR

The itinerary for our tour to the the Championships is as follows, timings are to be advised and itinerary is subject to change.

*Monday 22 August - travel and transfer to hotel, evening welcome reception and buffet supper in hotel
*Tuesday 23 August - walking tour of Luneburg with English speaking guide plus free time
*Wednesday 24 August - morning ' Carriages & lunch tour ' ,  afternoon vet check , evening opening ceremony
*Thursday 25 August - Dressage part I
*Friday 26 August - Dressage part II
*Saturday 27 August - Cross Country ( course walk will be arranged in advance Thursday/ Friday- details to be confirmed )
*Sunday 28 August - Show Jumping & medal ceremony ( plus optional party night in traditional German venue !!! )
*Monday 29 August - transfers and departures

ABOUT FLIGHTS
We fly to Hamburg Intl airport - leaving from London Heathrow likely afternoon flight returning on an afternoon flight. Flying time is approximately 1 hour 30 minutes. The coach transfer to Luneburg will take approximately 1 hour.  Hamburg is well served from UK so you are not restricted to Heathrow departure - we can arrange regional departures on request and cost accordingly. IMPORTANT NOTE -Hamburg main airport is our destination and is the most convenient for travelling south to Luneburg. Hamburg Lubeck , the other airport, is served by Ryanair and is some 50km north east of Hamburg itself - so journey time to Luneburg would be significantly increased.

ABOUT HOTEL BERGSTROM & LOCATION

We are really excited about this hotel , both it's location and its excellent standards of service and comfort. This is the pick of the bunch. The 4 star superior Hotel Bergstrom is located in the historic Hanseatic City of Luneburg on the 'Old Salt Route', located just 15 km ( 20 minutes ) from Luhmuhlen. The city's wealth was built on salt, or 'White gold' by those who know how to produce it. It is one of the wealthiest Hanseatic towns in Germany , a gem of medieval brick architecture, all but unscathed by the ravages of war , set in Germany largest nature reserve, Luneburg Heath.

Today the town mixes old world charm with excellent variety of shopping , restaurants, and places of interest. Our hotel is in the centre of the old town and all the attractions are just a moments walk away.

The Hotel Bergstrom is an historic, beautifully restored collection of buildings forming a unique ensemble in the water district in the heart of the medieval city. We have an allocation of extremely well appointed and comfortable guest rooms : comfort single ( 1.60 m queen size bed ) , superior double ( 2.00 m King bed ) , deluxe double ( 40sqm m larger room with 2.00 m King bed ) . Availability and costs for suites are on request . All rooms are located in the 4-star superior house which are century-old water mills, water towers and warehouses, all located in the historical ambiance of the 1,000 year old Hanseatic city. The hotel complex is 7 buildings with 3 restaurants, piano bar, wine shop, beer garden, patio deck, small swimming pool, sauna, solarium and fitness centre.
